About The Position
Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative to serve as a primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy for Amgen products as directed by the District Manager. The position connects with medical professionals by providing clinical product knowledge and helping customers navigate the payer environment. The territory covers Edmond, Woodward, and Guymon, Oklahoma. Relocation is not offered. The role level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience for the geography.
Requirements
- Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree, or associate degree and 4 years of sales experience, or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
Nice To Haves
- Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare, medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative: some experience, pre-graduate sales training, or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative: 3 or more years of experience.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases and their related treatments.
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Knowledge of the local market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate utilization.
- Drive territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage account relationships by tailoring discussions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and support continued learning and development.
- Build the Amgen brand and maintain commitment to its products throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient service central.
