Specialty Pharmacy Technician

Requirements
- Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License
- 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in specialty, retail, or high-volume environments
- Strong knowledge of: Prior authorizations, Pharmacy billing and insurance processing, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage complex workflows
Nice To Haves
- Specialty medications (HIV, PrEP, Hepatitis C)
- Patient assistance programs (PAF, copay assistance)
- Adherence programs and refill coordination
- Experience with PrimeRx
Responsibilities
- Process and fulfill specialty prescriptions, including data entry, labeling, and coordination of delivery
- Take ownership of prior authorizations, benefits investigations, and insurance adjudication, resolving rejections and removing barriers to care
- Communicate with covered entities, providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely access to specialty medications
- Coordinate patient onboarding, refills, and medication adherence programs
- Maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy systems (PrimeRx or similar)
- Assist with inventory management and specialty drug handling requirements (including cold chain when applicable)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, URAC/NABP standards, and state/federal regulations
- Escalate clinical or operational issues to the pharmacist as needed
