About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. This role performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. The technician will be responsible for filling and delivering medications, ensuring adequate supplies are available, triaging and escalating issues outside their scope, using appropriate systems for processing patient information, maintaining quality assurance, and operating pharmacy equipment appropriately. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Virginia Pharmacy Tech License
Pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Nice To Haves

CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB)
1 Year Pharmacy Experience

Responsibilities

Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
