Specialty Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
CVS Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for its CarePlus Specialty Pharmacy team, which serves patients with MS, oncology, hepatitis, HIV, rheumatology, dermatology, transplant, and gastrointestinal conditions. The team is pursuing an initiative to transform health care and pharmacy by using emerging information, technologies, and channels. The technician helps ensure prescriptions are filled correctly, enters prescription information, contacts patients to arrange deliveries or pickup dates, and makes refill reminder calls. The role also involves filling medication orders, preparing and packing orders for shipment through various carriers, maintaining and managing inventory, assisting walk-in customers, and processing cash-register transactions. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The scheduled shift is 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a clinically based customer service representative role.
- Active registration as a pharmacy technician with the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities
- Help ensure medications are filled correctly.
- Accurately enter prescription information as needed.
- Contact patients to arrange delivery or set a pickup date.
- Perform refill reminder calls.
- Accurately fill medication orders.
- Prepare orders for delivery and pack and ship medication orders using various carriers.
- Maintain adequate inventory and manage inventory functions.
- Assist walk-in customers.
- Perform cash-register transactions.
