About The Position

Logan Health is searching for a supervisor to oversee its Specialty Pharmacy Team in Kalispell, MT. This position will provide supervision, operational support, staff development and engagement, and scheduling for the Specialty Pharmacy Team. The supervisor will also collaborate and provide clinical support to Oncology Pharmacists.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate or doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required.
  • Montana Pharmacy license in good standing with no prior disciplinary actions noted required.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ leadership experience in pharmacy practice to include oversight of technicians and/or ancillary personnel required.
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel management, financial management and quality management principles required.
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations at times.
  • Must work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision.

  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness and exhibit empathy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinically strong pharmacist with at least 1 year leadership experience.
  • Ambulatory experience or ambulatory clinical knowledge base is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing lab results or oncology experience is a plus!
  • ACLS within six (6) months of hire/transfer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the organizational expert for assigned program standards; creates program materials, establishes staffing requirements, and ensures the program achieves stated objectives.
  • Provides administrative support within the department as requested.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of data as required meeting accreditation standards; prepares financial statements and maintains records pertaining to program activities; responsible for dissemination of changes to members of committee and sub-committees as appropriate.
  • Processes program expense reimbursements, orders supplies, distributes mail, creates invoices, and processes end of month reports as necessary as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assists in researching new regulations and the effect on the program; makes suggestions for implementation; stays current with industry trends as they relate to job responsibilities as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Reviews policies and procedures per department protocol to ensure compliance with accreditation standards as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Works with leadership and committees as necessary to enhance program services.
  • As applicable to assigned area(s); performs program and location analysis, data collection, site usage, program effectiveness, and the presentation of process improvement recommendations.
  • Assists leadership with operating budgets, monitors invoices for department accounts and monthly P&L analysis, department expenses and revenues as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assists leadership with on-site inspections, reports, software and/or hardware implementations, etc. per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Provides consistent follow through on issues and timely escalation of matters as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison for multiple stakeholders per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Coordinates billing and tracking of multiple tasks per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assures that productivity standards are set according to regional and national standards.
  • Monitors the management of productivity with fluctuating workload and strives for optimal efficiency in the overall workflow of the department.
  • Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions.
  • Plans for, develops and implements high quality services for all identified customers in accordance with the philosophy and mission statement of LH.
  • Keeps abreast of current literature in areas of expertise.
  • Assures regulatory (i.e., State, CMS) and other professional surveys are conducted in a professional and educational manner.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of sound business, regulatory, reimbursement and administrative practices.
  • Prepares contracts and agreements as needed for provision of services.
  • Assures each contract is appropriately signed, current and effective.
  • Responsible for overall coordination and planning of the Pharmacy department, assuring safety, cleanliness and a positive working environment.
  • Maintains a high level of commitment to the financial success of the organization outside of normal department budget issues.
  • Supports the overall strategic plan and new growth.
  • Leads the hiring process, preparation and delivery of evaluations and corrective action for assigned staff.
  • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.
  • Trains and/or coordinates the training of assigned staff.
  • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.
  • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for assigned staff.
  • Leads and/or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.
