About The Position

The Specialty Pharmacy Program Manager - Pharmacist role is within the Elliot Retail Pharmacy Department. This position is responsible for managing the Specialty Pharmacy Program for Elliot Health System. The role involves working closely with Elliot Pharmacy at River’s Edge and Physician practice leadership to support specialty prescription workflows and dual accreditation requirements. Elliot Pharmacy provides high-quality prescription services, including vaccinations, adherence packaging, meds-to-beds, shipping, and non-hazardous compounding. They are also a designated specialty pharmacy with access to hard-to-find medications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school.
  • New Hampshire Registered Pharmacist.
  • 3 years of specialty pharmacy experience required.
  • 3 Years of pharmacy management experience, teaching or mentorship experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, MHA, MPH or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • teaching or mentorship experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in day-to-day specialty operations, including fulfillment, staffing, and clinical workflows. Operations includes counseling patients with corresponding documentation in patient charts.
  • Work collaboratively with specialty pharmacy support vendors (i.e., SHS) in all aspects of the specialty pharmacy program to drive compliance, efficiency and program performance.
  • Ensure the program meets or exceeds standards from accrediting organizations (i.e., URAC/ACHC).
  • Document, maintain, and organize program data to support reporting requirements of accrediting organizations, third-party payors and drug manufacturers.
  • Serve as Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Committee Clinical Chair.
  • Monitor, design and implement clinical protocols, plan of care, patient support programs, and specialty training modules.
  • Participate in recruiting and training of specialty-focused pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy liaisons.
  • Assist and collaborate with PIC to ensure legal compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate with specialty pharmacy support vendors, community pharmacy, medication access, and ambulatory pharmacy teams and Elliot clinics regarding medication adjustments, prescription status and patient status.
  • Precept pharmacy students and residents as needed.
