About The Position

The Specialty Operations Pharmacist serves patients of the UVMMC Specialty Pharmacy and works in the Specialty Pharmacy. The pharmacist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to resolve medication-related problems and dispenses medications according to prescription orders. The role includes screening for and resolving medication-related problems and financial barriers, counseling patients and health care professionals on proper medication use, and maintaining good business practices and sound clinical judgment to support departmental success and patient outcomes. The pharmacist also triages and answers questions about specialty pharmacy prescription fills and prior authorizations.

Requirements

• PharmD or B.S. pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed pharmacist in Vermont.
• Minimum one year of experience within the past five years in a retail, mail, call center, specialty, or home infusion pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum one year of experience in a health system pharmacy preferred.
