About The Position
The Pharmacist Specialty Services is a role within the MultiCare pharmacy department. The position performs manipulative and non-discretionary functions and supports patients and families by providing guidance and education. The pharmacist performs outreach to help ensure specialty pharmaceuticals are filled accurately and on time, coordinates with clinic staff to connect patients with specialty pharmacy resources, processes prior authorization requests, and helps eligible patients enroll in copay and medication assistance programs.
Requirements
- Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency is preferred.
- At least one year of pharmacy experience in a setting appropriate to the work assignment, such as a hospital, retail, or clinic, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient outreach to ensure accurate and timely filling of specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to connect patients with MultiCare Health System (MHS) specialty pharmacy resources.
- Process prior authorization (PA) requests from specialty clinics.
- Determine patient eligibility and enroll patients in copay assistance and medication assistance programs when appropriate.
- Provide guidance and education to patients and families.
