About The Position

The Bosch Charleston plant, established in 1974, is part of a global network of associates dedicated to creating state-of-the-art products. This role involves acting as a leader for maintaining assembly and machining equipment to ensure continuous operation. The position requires the use of various measuring, testing, and software tools to troubleshoot, modify, and repair mechanical and electrical linear systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, robots, presses, PLCs, cameras, and scanners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 18 years or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and other personnel with the ability to create clear technical instructions
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to function in a noisy and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates self-initiative
  • Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing or machining
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, print-reading and mechanics
  • Must demonstrate mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork
  • Must be willing to work on alternate shifts and must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes
  • Must be flexible to work other shifts for training, coaching, projects and travel as needed
  • Understands control systems and is able to connect to and troubleshoot PLC programs.
  • Knowledge of SAP work order/spare parts system is also a requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience is a plus.
  • Siemens and Allen Bradley experience is also a plus as well as OpCon experience.
  • Familiarity with CNC machines (drives, axes, etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge of Staubli and Omron robots, vision systems, Trumpf lasers, and Profibus is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of heat treat or chroming operations is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify trends, periodically analyze equipment/machine problems, perform necessary adjustments on manufacturing equipment, identify root causes and initiate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate efforts between operations and engineering functions.
  • Set up spare parts, optimize PMs, keep process parameters updated.
  • Identify best practices and create standards combining available information & knowledge.
  • Follow plant safety and environmental policies, and keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Utilize plant systems e.g. SAP, MES, OPCON, Promaster, tableau, etc.
  • Utilize IPN resources where necessary.

  • Starting hourly rate for this position is $33.00 - $37.30 based on experience and shift. As a Bosch employee, you can achieve an hourly rate up to $42.25 through skills development and strong contributions.
