About The Position

Richmond Elementary School is seeking a full-time, energetic, and caring Specialized Assistant to work with elementary-aged students as a member of our Student Support team. The Specialized Assistant will provide a variety of supportive activities with a diverse population of students. These individuals must enjoy working as part of a creative and hard-working team.

Requirements

High School diploma required
3–5 years experience working with students
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain confidentiality
Candidates must be reliable
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time to support students

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

Build and foster a positive rapport with students and colleagues.
Respond to student incidents and help students repair hurt or damaged relationships.
Provide crisis prevention, de-escalation, and post-incident support using CPI techniques.
Collect and maintain behavioral data as needed.
Model behavior strategies and programming for school teams.
Support short-term student stabilization or long-term intensive needs if needed.
Collaborate closely with the Student Life Coordinator, other school staff, and administration.
