Cooley is seeking a Conflicts Assistant (Specialized Conflicts) to join the Business Intake and Conflicts team. The business intake and conflicts function is essential to the Firm’s compliance with ethical obligations and Risk Management policies, avoidance of malpractice claims and ethical violations, and ability to process all attorney lateral hire, paralegal and staff conflict submissions in a timely fashion. The BIC Conflicts Assistant (Specialized) will focus on day-to-day operations for processing all lateral intake and conflicts and will create comprehensive conflicts reports for analysis, working under the supervision of the BIC Supervisor (Specialized Conflicts) and Associate Director of Conflicts (Specialized Conflicts). The reports that the Conflicts Assistants create are key in identifying conflicts and are an important tool for the Conflicts Analysts, Conflict Staff Attorneys and Department leadership when resolving and clearing all candidates.
