About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for Loads & Dynamics Engineering Professional to join our Flight Physics team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the Airbus Flight Physics team based In Toulouse. You will be part of the Loads, Dynamics team responsible for calculating static and dynamic loads on aircraft airframe, define and analyse ground and flight tests, writing certification reports. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as Loads & Dynamics Engineering Professional will be to integrate / support your team to achieve its objectives within prescribed budget and timeline, and adhere to Airbus values.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in structural dynamics, loads or vibrations
  • Working knowledge using Nastran SOL [101, 103, 111, 144, 145] and familiar with DMAP alters
  • Good understanding of finite element method, frequency-based analysis, and unsteady aerodynamics
  • Familiar with relevant industry standards, certification requirements and guidance
  • Team player and a person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility and good judgment capable of working under pressure
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical thinking skills interested in improving processes, capturing knowledge and sharing with team
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++ and Linux/Windows scripting
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of documentation skills using commercial software such as Microsoft Office Suit or GSuite
  • Awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Having demonstrated excellent technical English writing skills would be an asset
  • An understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition (asset)
  • May be a current or former Design Approval Designee in Dynamics disciplines (strong asset)

Responsibilities

  • Calculating static and dynamic loads on aircraft airframe
  • Defining and analyzing ground and flight tests
  • Writing certification reports
  • Create, modify, run computer programs to perform aeroelastics calculations
  • Participate in tests to support new development, production and in-service issues
  • Analyze test data, correlate finite elements models (F.E.M) to analyse, test and propose engineering solutions
  • Produce formal documentation to communicate the results and satisfy certification authorities and internal clients
