About The Position

The Vendor Master Specialist ensures that AAR’s Centralized Vendor Management Program is properly controlled, required records are maintained, and participating AAR business units are informed of applicable vendor status. The position is based at AAR’s Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, Illinois, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart in Chicago in early 2027.

Requirements

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of IMOPS and APRISe.
Proficiency with desktop Microsoft applications, including the ability to maintain a database in Excel.
Ability to focus on details and perform required functions accurately.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to work and coordinate with multiple departments and locations.

Responsibilities

Receive and process vendor requests from business units.
Complete initial and recurring vendor approvals, including sending postal audits to potential vendors and receiving, reviewing, and scoring returned postal and on-site audits to determine vendor acceptability.
Coordinate with AAR business units and auditors to schedule on-site vendor audits.
Notify participating business units of vendors added to or deleted from the program.
Prepare and maintain the annual vendor audit schedule.
Maintain vendor files by entering surveys, on-site records, and other vendor data into IMOPS.
Monitor the overall performance of vendors in the program.
Coordinate with the Corporate Quality department to address and resolve significant vendor issues identified by participating business units.
Notify business units of significant issues associated with current vendors.
