About The Position

Responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance for a variety of automotive service information. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Collaborates with engineering, product development, website, and technical support teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of technician repair shop diagnostic products. Develops service information by performing hands-on procedures on commercial vehicles. Supports dealer/ICTA’s requests, plans, and develops new electronic service communication information/products.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Automotive Engineering/Manufacturing/Technology, computer science or software engineering or related discipline, or equivalent directly related work experience
  • Minimum three years’ related experience including dealer service and parts preferably in commercial vehicles or related work experience
  • ASE certified or equivalent professional automotive repair experience
  • Technical writing or related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair procedures
  • Electrical Engineering theories and principles specific to the automotive industry
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices for technical documentation
  • Proficiency in using technical writing software and in Microsoft Office applications
  • Technical writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation from technical information into user-friendly content
  • Strong automotive diagnostic abilities, especially electrical circuitry
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of documentation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in application of automotive equipment, both Mechanical/Electrical and computers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with ability to type at least 40 words per minute
  • Thorough ability to work as part of a team and to complete tasks independently

Responsibilities

  • Develops and validates Service Shop Manuals and other service materials within deadlines. Functions include planning and coordinating with outside departments.
  • Regularly updates and revises manuals to reflect new product releases, design changes, and customer feedback.
  • Supports the development of owner manuals within deadlines. Functions include planning “hands-on” validation and coordinating with outside departments.
  • Creates Information/Technical/Warranty Service Bulletins.
  • Writes, edits, and reviews technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Performs “hands-on” validation of repair procedures on Isuzu commercial vehicles
  • Supports maintenance and creation of online (web-based) service programs with related Isuzu departments.
  • Creates and maintains IsuzuTruckService.com content with IGSS and Helm.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
