About The Position

L3Harris’s Missile Solutions Segment / Propulsion Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Specialist, Program Management for its Huntsville, Alabama headquarters facility. The role supports the Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 Post Boost Control System (PBCS) Gas Generator program and is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing programs or projects from initiation through completion. The Specialist manages scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications to help ensure program objectives align with organizational goals and customer and business requirements. The role leads and coordinates cross-functional teams, drives performance, and supports delivery of high-quality results. The position follows a 9/80 schedule: employees work nine days in each 14-day period, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of prior relevant program management experience; alternatively, a graduate degree and at least 2 years of prior related program management experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of prior related program management experience.

Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Program Management, or a related field.
Master’s degree in a related field.
PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project/program management certification.
Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM/EVMS), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and financial performance tracking.
Experience supporting or managing projects or programs in a cross-functional environment.
Working knowledge of program management principles, including cost, schedule, scope, risk, and performance management.
Ability to develop and maintain schedules, trackers, reports, and presentation materials.
Experience supporting customer reviews, contract deliverables, and milestone-based execution.
Knowledge of proposal support, basis of estimate development, and transition from capture to execution.
Familiarity with ERP systems, scheduling tools, and program reporting dashboards.
Understanding of risk and opportunity management processes.
Experience with change control, configuration management, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Support the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned programs or projects.
Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, quality, contracts, and other functional teams.
Develop, maintain, and track program schedules, milestones, action items, deliverables, and performance metrics.
Monitor program cost, schedule, and technical performance and escalate issues as needed.
Identify program risks and issues; support development and implementation of mitigation and recovery plans.
Prepare program status reports, dashboards, customer deliverables, and briefing materials for management reviews.
Support customer communications and internal stakeholder alignment to ensure program objectives are met.
Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, estimate updates, and variance analysis.
Ensure program activities comply with contractual requirements, internal processes, and company policies.
Facilitate meetings, document action items, and follow through on assigned tasks to support program execution.
Support change management activities, including schedule, scope, and resource adjustments.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance program execution, reporting, and operational efficiency.
