About The Position

The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Procurement Specialist (EAST/WEST) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing sourcing and procurement activities related to direct and indirect spend categories for one large regional group of Gotham Greens Greenhouses. You will play a pivotal role in driving procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective fulfillment of business needs while mitigating risks across a complex supply chain. This role sits within the Supply Chain team at Gotham Greens.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, RFP management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience with vendor management and performance monitoring.
  • Proven ability to build and execute fulfillment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the CPG industry and/or third-party manufacturing.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with risk management techniques and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously review and improve inventory flow processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and meet demand fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Plant Operations, Production Planning, Logistics, etc.) to build and refine the overall fulfillment strategy that supports business objectives, including inventory management and on-time delivery.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate them, including contingency planning and alternative sourcing solutions.
  • Lead the process from purchase recommendation/requisition (RQN) to Purchase Order (PO), ensuring seamless execution and accuracy.
  • Support inventory control activities, including conducting cycle counts, performing adjustment analysis to identify discrepancies, and managing the item catalog to ensure accurate and up-to-date product data.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and manage price negotiation processes with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient distribution structures and implement new vendors into the supply chain, ensuring smooth integration.
  • Drive the negotiation and finalization of Master Service Agreements (MSA) with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure that they meet or exceed established performance metrics, driving improvements in quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements with key suppliers, driving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Partial ownership of the commercialization of secondary products, managing the procurement aspects of new product launches and ensuring vendor readiness.
