Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of operations experience required; including 3 years of pipeline control experience in Feedstock product movements.
  • Thorough technical understanding of pipeline operating systems and pipeline operations.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and solution oriented; self-starter capable of managing assigned workload with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills and be able to communicate professionally and effectively to customers and groups within and outside of the LYB organizations in order to build partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Excel, and Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Experience with Aspen Process Explorer, Telvent and C-Notes
  • High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Integrates strong safety and environmental practices into all operations to advance pipeline safety objectives and maintain full environmental compliance.
  • Works with Technical team to update operating procedures, normal operating ranges, and safe operating conditions in support of the Pipeline’s Process Safety Management.
  • Evaluates and improves existing procedures and develops new procedures as necessary.
  • Investigates and determines root cause of incidents and issues technical solutions to support ongoing operations.
  • Partners with scheduling and business organizations to evaluate pipeline operations necessary to meet production/business needs.
  • Provides leadership to Operations staff and champions Pipeline initiatives.
  • Backfill for C2/C3 Operations Specialist as needed.
  • Facilitate training of new and existing Pipeline Controllers.
  • Resolves process issues through troubleshooting/historical knowledge and implements solutions in a timely manner.
  • As the alarm champion, analyzes pipeline alarms on a daily basis.
  • Work with Area Engineers and SCADA staff to provide solutions and corrective actions to maintain Pipeline alarms within acceptable levels to meet CRM and corporate requirements.
  • Set priorities to accomplish daily initiatives within the Control Center.
  • Understand and continuously evaluate the overall knowledge of shift personnel and their technical capabilities; provides input and makes recommendations to the Control Center Supervisor to improve the operational & technical skills of the Controllers.
  • Participate in pipeline safety programs, process hazard analyses and incident investigations.
  • Support the Control Center in a 24 hours per day, 365 days per year operation.
