About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing routine and advanced level payroll tasks. This includes accurate, consistent, and timely weekly payroll processing in accordance with established deadlines and policies. The role requires compliance with all state and federal regulations as it pertains to timekeeping, tax payments, garnishments, or levies. The Specialist will validate payroll for accuracy prior to processing by performing audits, variance analyses, and reconciliation checks. They will also prepare and review payroll registers, deduction reports, and tax summaries, and respond professionally and timely to all payroll-related questions. Maintaining payroll records with strict confidentiality and data integrity is essential.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines or unusual or critical situations.
  • Professional presentation of written information, that is clear and effective.
  • Collaborative, team minded successful attitude to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Understanding of income-control functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, and commitment to outstanding service.
  • Strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve required deadlines.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Use a computer, keyboard, and 10-key calculator.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in processing payroll via Infinium, UKG, or Workday is preferred.
  • Regulatory requirements helpful.
