About The Position

Alltrista Plastics LLC, a subsidiary of Jadex Inc., is a leading manufacturer of high-volume, precision injection molded parts. This position works in a team manner with the Shift Supervisor, assisting on the floor with equipment setup, preparing materials, utilizing Epicor to manage material, transporting and palletizing finished product, and organizing the warehouse to ensure maximum operation of equipment as directed by the Supervisor and/or Management.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Self-motivated to learn and perform job tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
  • Hands-on mechanical inclination.
  • 2 to 3 years related material handling or production experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment including forklift experience.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate efforts with the overall shift goals established by the Supervisor.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts, as applicable.
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with "Line Clearances" on the machine for job changes & sets up the necessary auxiliary equipment needed.
  • Manages press resin inventory by keeping color feeders along with Weigh Blenders supplied with resin colorants & additives to prevent running out of product.
  • Uses the traveler to ensure the proper mixture of resin, adding color concentrate and additives where necessary and cleaning the mixing bin, calculating resin mixture ratios, mixing material and regrind accordingly using the material loading system.
  • Ensures machines are loaded with material according to the production schedule (and visual verification) and replaces material as necessary.
  • Assists Inspector Packers with the preparation of materials and relief during breaks as needed.
  • Cleans various areas and items including warehouse, mezzanine, supply areas, oil/water spills and equipment.
  • Completes scanning of material at the beginning of the shift and with the movement of material.
  • Transports, palletizes, and wraps finished product as necessary.
  • Assists the shipping department with loading and unloading trucks, where applicable.
  • Operates central load system.
  • Completes forklift inspections on each shift and maintains battery water levels on forklifts, as needed.
  • Empties trash cans, including the breakroom, and removes any debris in the warehouse at the end of the shift.
  • Completes material mix form when mixing material.
  • Supports the QMS by adhering to the system requirements.
  • Understands and follows plant safety rules. Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern.
  • Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to the direct Supervisor.
  • Maintains good working relations with all other employees. Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
