About The Position

Responsible for envisioning and building the capacity of the organization to effectively differentiate support for growing talent across the system in alignment with the District’s strategic roadmap. Focus areas will range from students to preservice, novice and early career teachers and will include central office support members. Additional focus will be given to working with individuals from underrepresented demographic groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • 5+ years successful teaching experience in an urban setting, including demonstrated experience with increasing student achievement and closing the achievement gap
  • 3+ years instructional coaching and project management
  • 3+ years experience in adult facilitation
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates across teams to envision, develop, and implement tools and resources to prepare, grow and support top talent in the District
  • Builds the capacity of central support members to grow in their career effectiveness, improving the service and outcomes for schools and students
  • Works across departments to envision, develop and implement activities to fulfill four critical priorities around pre-service and early-service teachers: diversifying the teacher workforce, building partnerships and strategies to strengthen hiring practices, especially in highest-priority schools, supporting schools in developing early-career teachers and deepening collaboration with teacher preparation programs to ensure alignment with District academic and equity priorities
  • Develops and executes the vision and strategy for novice teacher support for summer programming
  • In a subset of identified high-need schools and in close partnership with other school support partners, supports the development of novice and early career teachers through building the capacity of Instructional Leadership Team members to support new teachers
  • Designs and delivers professional learning for novice teachers as part of the summer induction experience and the New Educator Welcome
  • Envisions, develops and maintains relationships with key community partners and establishes ongoing support and collaboration
  • Sustains and implements best practices in Student-to-Para and Para-to-Teacher and other development programs that support the retention of current students and employees in the District
