About The Position

The Specialist JIS Material Planner will collaborate with suppliers to establish a strong supply chain and ensure sufficient material at production plants. This role reports to the Manager, Material Planning and is crucial in revolutionizing the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving key planning and supply chain objectives. The position is based in Blythewood, South Carolina, requiring 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics (e.g., inbound/outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT/JIS).
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or related fields. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems, as well as process design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attendance to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience in automotive logistics supplier management focused on JIS Processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish a strong supply chain and ensure enough material at production plants.
  • Develop, design, and implement planning concepts and projects for JIS Disposition.
  • Support suppliers in necessary JIS processes such as transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling, and equipment to ensure a cost-optimal and reliable supply chain of parts.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce appropriate measures for all JIT process activities (e.g., parts lists, disposition releases, advance information, security circulations).
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain early and develop/align countermeasures for bottleneck control, including checking parts inventory.
  • Clarify and sustainably eliminate problems within the JIT process, including coordinating and monitoring the accuracy and stability of IT processes.
  • Identify, process, and maintain data for part inventory management and control, process complaints, and initiate inventories.
  • Examine the capacities of JIT suppliers in coordination with the requirements of the operational production program.
  • Establish ongoing, constructive, and cooperative communication with suppliers.
  • Develop, edit, monitor, and optimize the material flow and delivery program, and production programs with JIT suppliers.
  • Assume special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the job holder.
  • Carry out responsibilities in a factual, cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, and involved/affected departments, in compliance with existing guidelines, standards, and regulations.
