About The Position

The Specialist I Procurement is responsible for supporting the procurement function at Primoris Energy Services Corp, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for company operations. This role involves assisting with vendor management, purchase order processing, and maintaining procurement records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the energy, construction, or related industrial sector.
  • Basic understanding of procurement principles, practices, and ethics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Support the sourcing and evaluation of new vendors, including obtaining and comparing quotes, and conducting preliminary vendor assessments.
  • Maintain and update vendor information, contracts, and procurement records in the company's systems.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., project management, operations, finance) to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and track the status of open purchase orders, following up with vendors as necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies with invoices, delivery issues, and vendor performance.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
  • Prepare basic reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, and vendor performance.
  • Adhere to all company safety guidelines and ethical procurement practices.
