About The Position

We are seeking a Specialist Engineer – Rotating Equipment to join Orica’s Global Specialist Asset Integrity team. This is a senior, high impact engineering role responsible for protecting and optimizing critical rotating equipment across our global manufacturing network. You will act as a subject matter expert and technical authority, influencing asset lifecycle decisions, improving reliability, and supporting complex troubleshooting efforts across multiple sites and regions. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, traveling internationally, and influencing asset performance at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • 7+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years of hands on rotating equipment experience in continuous or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Strong background working with turbomachinery, compressors, steam turbines, and associated systems
  • Working knowledge of API/ISO standards, NDE methods, vibration analysis, lubrication systems, thermography, and dynamic balancing
  • Ability to influence across functions with clear communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Candidates must already have legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Candidates must be eligible to gain approval to travel for work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across rotating equipment, including lifecycle analysis and turnaround support
  • Support global manufacturing sites by improving reliability, performance, and equipment integrity
  • Apply data driven engineering insights to reduce operational risk and extend asset life
  • Lead or contribute to benchmarking, innovation initiatives, and best practice development
  • Serve as a technical contributor to HAZOPs, LOPAs, and functional safety activities
  • Actively participate in and help lead Communities of Practice across the business
