As a Product Engineer at Google, you will bridge the gap between initial product design and global manufacturing realization. Your mission is to design and deploy high-performance server platforms by leading the new product introduction process and defining critical design for manufacturing requirements. As the technical authority on hardware health, you will drive initiatives to broaden test coverage, slash operational costs, and solve yield issues through root-cause analysis. You will play a vital role in ensuring Google’s infrastructure remains the most reliable and efficient architecture in the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 5 years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing or development management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing and integrating manufacturing hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation.
  • Experience working with agreement manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, optimize, and deploy platforms for Google compute servers at global manufacturing partners, collaborating with the NPI team to define Design for Manufacturing (DfM) requirements and provide input to the manufacturing test strategy.
  • Deliver caliber manufacturing engineering support for new and existing products.
  • Lead initiatives to improve test process efficiencies, improve test coverage, and reduce cost.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot the root cause of manufacturing yield issues and data center field escapes, driving issues to closure with corrective and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers and partner engineers to drive improvement for efficiency and effectiveness, proactively and reactively driving change to improve product quality.
