About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Manufacturing Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. You will make an impact by actively supporting EHS improvements, leading value stream improvement projects, and driving improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost. You will also support the rapid resolution of customer complaints, provide daily production support and troubleshooting for assigned products and manufacturing operations, lead efforts on scale-up of new products, improve manufacturing operations using continuous improvement and project management tools, and maintain, track, and report on unit/static costs and variances for assigned products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or other manufacturing STEM degree (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Five (5) years experience in Product, Process, Quality, and/or Manufacturing Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment (internships included).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university.
  • Experience with Quality Registrations and systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical tools and data analysis in problem solving.
  • Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies to manufacturing.
  • Leadership with driving quality improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supporting EHS improvements.
  • Lead value stream improvement projects.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Support rapid resolution of customer complaints, including timely response, and implementation and communication of corrective actions.
  • Provide daily production support and troubleshooting for assigned products and manufacturing operations, including occasional availability on nights and weekends as needed.
  • Leading efforts on scale-up of new products and work on cross-functional teams.
  • Improve manufacturing operations using continuous improvement and project management tools.
  • Maintain, track, and report on unit/static costs and variances for assigned products.
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
