Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomics, geopolitics, commodity markets, and the mining industry lifecycle.
  • Experience in economic analysis, scenario planning, strategic forecasting, risk assessment, or portfolio development.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to quickly synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights.
  • Strong business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and financial analysis.
  • Experience supporting complex business decisions across operational, financial, and strategic functions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor geopolitical, economic, and commodity market developments and assess their potential impact on the business.
  • Develop and support macroeconomic and portfolio scenarios to evaluate future opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize economic and commodity modeling tools to generate insights and deliver stakeholder-ready presentations.
  • Conduct research on geopolitical trends, shareholder dynamics, emerging technologies, and industry developments.
  • Contribute to strategic reviews using historical and global market analogs.
  • Support Executive Leadership Team and Board presentations with data-driven analysis and future-focused insights.
  • Maintain and monitor geopolitical risk registers and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Corporate Development, Government Relations, Supply Chain, and Mine Planning teams.
