About The Position

The Digital Prepress Specialist supports the accurate evaluation and proofing of customer-supplied artwork to ensure a print ready product. They will support preflight, imposition, color management, and will work closely with our creative team on various projects. They will provide precise file output of artwork for subsequent processing in a manner that meets or exceeds customer specifications. Candidates will have a background in design/print production and an understanding of print production workflows.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree (Design) preferred or other related coursework/certificates or equivalent years of related work experience
  • Expertise with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft products in Mac and PC platforms
  • Proven preflight, design and layout abilities
  • Requires a minimum of three years of related job experience
  • Print production experience preferred
  • Preflight, design, and imposition skills
  • Ability to use desktop publishing tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Suite
  • Must be able to work in a team environment by maintaining positive, productive relationships with co-workers, management, sales, and production departments.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing situations and be flexible.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive work by continuously executing different tasks according to set procedures, sequence, or pace while maintaining quality and output standards.

Responsibilities

  • Preflight and prepare files for digital output.
  • Produce accurate proofs and develop imposition layouts to meet printing specifications.
  • Coordinate color management of files with digital output devices.
  • Preflight, layout, and prepare content for customer Web-to-Print catalogs.
  • Provide strong customer service to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Stay knowledgeable of industry trends, new ideas, and technologies.
  • Adheres to legal requirements relating to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.
  • Adheres to production schedules and deadlines.
  • Reviews proofs and works with operators on the production of printed material.
  • Work with VDP (Variable Data Printing) tools and techniques.
  • Asset management and manage document libraries.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
