About The Position

This role is responsible for positioning digital files according to scheduling requests, maintaining all equipment, and adhering to safety and quality control standards. The Platemaker will create plates for the pressroom, manage inventory, and operate platemaking machinery. A strong understanding of manufacturing or print operations is beneficial, along with the ability to read and interpret production instructions.

Requirements

High levels of attention to detail
Ability to work as a team and individually
Position requires mechanical aptitude
Ability to read a ruler metric and standard and perform basic math
Ability to read and understand layouts, set up instructions and production instructions

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of manufacturing operations or print operations preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2 Years of previous printing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Positioning digital files per scheduling’s request
Maintaining all equipment as needed while following all safety and quality control standards
Imposition file for press per scheduling request
Check quality control of plates
Perform general maintenance on all platemaking devices
Inventory and order supplies as needed
Create plates as needed for pressroom
Thoroughly understand and operate platemaking machinery
Adheres to and promotes all safety, security and environmental policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned
