About The Position

The Digital Entertainment & Content Licensing Specialist is responsible for licensing movies and sports content, coordinating with vendors and shipboard teams for timely delivery and proper broadcasting, and ensuring compliance with legal and ADA requirements. This role manages the budget by coding invoices, preparing monthly reconciliation reports, and explaining discrepancies. The Specialist collaborates on budget forecasting, stays updated on sporting events, arranges satellite transmissions, and works with IMAX partners to schedule movies and track occupancy. Using PowerBI, the Specialist updates templates to optimize guest experience and revenue, reviews video submissions for In-Cabin channels, and develops content for the onboard Entertainment channel. Additionally, the role involves negotiating agreements with satellite vendors and movie providers and managing Digital Media Systems for in-cabin channels. The Specialist also assists the Director of Entertainment Marketing and Onboard Revenue with project management and planning, and performs other administrative duties as assigned, such as following up on content requests and approvals.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Finance, Business, Broadcast
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Business, Hospitality & Tourism, Entertainment Management, Human Resources, Administrative Support
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 office products Power BI.
  • Database experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and keep projects on track.
  • Skilled in setting priorities and maintaining well-organized tasks and projects.
  • Proficient in project management principles and capable of multitasking.
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Meticulous in ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Strong aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Collaborative and willing to work with others to achieve common goals.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and projects independently.
  • 2-4 years working in finance, marketing or broadcast, sports programming.

  • Interest in pop culture, TV and movies are preferred.
  • Previous onboard cruise ship experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in entertainment/sports/broadcast is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • License movies and sports content monthly, ensuring trailers are appropriate.
  • Coordinate with vendors and shipboard teams for timely delivery and proper broadcasting, complying with legal and ADA requirements.
  • Stay updated on sporting events and arrange satellite transmissions.
  • Work with IMAX partners to schedule movies and track occupancy.
  • Assist in negotiating agreements with satellite vendors and movie providers.
  • Works in partnership with Australia Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop sports and satellite programming strategies tailored to regional audiences.
  • Supports the Entertainment Creative Supervisor in the execution of visual communication assets across shipboard and digital platforms, including fleet-wide video screens (Digital Media Systems), Seaside Theater, HUB App, in-cabin displays, and temporary printed signage.
  • Assists with vendor contract negotiations in collaboration with Legal and works closely with Global Sourcing to optimize costs while protecting and strengthening the CCL brand.
  • Manage the budget by coding invoices and preparing monthly reconciliation reports.
  • Compare OPEX and reconciliation reports to explain discrepancies.
  • Collaborate on budget forecasting for the upcoming year.
  • Use PowerBI to update templates for optimal guest experience and revenue.
  • Review video submissions for In-Cabin channels to ensure they align with brand strategy and ADA compliance.
  • Assist the Entertainment Creative Supervisor to help maintain the Entertainment Brand Standard portfolio.
  • Develop content for the onboard Entertainment channel, including programming and scripting.
  • Manage Digital Media Systems for in-cabin channels, including content editing and scripting.
  • Leads the development and execution of onboard activations that promote and enhance IMAX and other film-focused experiences, partnering cross-functionally with Guest Experience, Youth, Sports and Family, Food and Beverage, and related teams.
  • Builds and scales activation concepts that support theatrical releases and onboard movie programming, including franchise launches and CST (Seaside Theater) content, driving guest awareness and engagement.
  • Owns the onboard sports programming strategy, working closely with shipboard leadership to document, maintain, and evolve standards that deliver a best-in-class sports viewing experience.
  • Partners with Entertainment Directors (EDs) as primary points of contact to ensure programming strategies are accurate and relevant by geographic region and homeport, with specific accountability for U.S. and Australia deployment.
  • Participate in team meetings, projects, and brainstorming sessions to encourage collaboration and idea sharing.

  • Update policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with other Entertainment departments to support the alignment and consistency of shipboard entertainment across the fleet.
  • Support communication and collaboration between shoreside and shipboard teams to ensure operational success.
  • Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including Financial Accounting, Legal, and Sourcing to review and negotiate partnerships terms for goods, services, and licensing terms.
  • Embrace safety practices and attend training programs, ensuring the highest level of guest and crew safety while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Ensure teams are prepared to fulfill onboard safety-related duties.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, emphasizing safety protocols and operational standards as outlined by Global HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) and ADA guidelines.
  • Review all comments on Qualtrics related to movies to ensure we stay informed about our guests' preferences.
  • Analyze feedback and make necessary adjustments to our movie strategy to align with guest expectations and enhance their experience.
  • Develop and monitor financial details of broadcast and movies, considering overall costs and return on investment.
  • Provide recommendations on new content and maximize current financial plan based on changes in itinerary or dry dock.
  • Facilitate the setup of new vendors by collecting and verifying all required documentation, including completed GSM Supplier Information forms, sample invoices with preprinted banking information.
  • Supports Entertainment-led agreement discussions through strong sports knowledge and regional insight, enabling timely updates and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Review and process invoices, ensuring that all invoices are coded correctly and approved in a timely manner.
