The Business Development & Marketing Specialist will support the execution of business development and marketing events, initiatives, projects, and processes that support all attorneys within the firm’s Northern California offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Sacramento. This individual will have strong event and project management skills needed to manage and deliver regional programs, activities, and processes that support the business development and marketing strategies of the offices. This position will work closely with the Business Development Executive to stay versed on emerging legal and market trends in the region, assist with lead opportunities and tracking ROI, and help position the firm for increased revenue and profile raising opportunities. The role will include managing the logistics of regional events and programs, including invitations, mailing lists, calendar coordination, event materials, follow-up communications, and related tracking. The Specialist will also support pitches and proposals, maintain and update Northern California and TPG capabilities content, and assist with lead and opportunity tracking via the firm’s CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of business development and/or marketing experience in a complex, consultative, and solution-oriented organization, with demonstrated experience in event logistics and coordinating multiple projects and deadlines required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the delivery of innovative, distinctive, and integrated business development and marketing programs, including client events, targeted seminar programs, client-facing material production, and digital and social media initiatives, with a strong focus on managing event logistics and related project coordination.
  • Manage and support firm-sponsored events and conferences/seminars, including logistics, drafting and distributing invitations, developing and maintaining mailing lists, coordinating internal and external calendars, preparing materials, tracking RSVPs, sharing RSVP updates with partners, handling follow-up communications, and tracking ROI.
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility.
  • Assist with lead and opportunity tracking for the Northern California region, including helping maintain reports, monitoring follow-up activity, and supporting evaluation of business development outcomes and next steps.
  • Update and maintain the firm's CRM database, including list segmentation, external mailings, invitation and mailing list development, RSVP tracking, and running reports to support events, campaigns, and business development initiatives.
  • Support the Business Development Executive in tracking and analyzing client and prospect opportunities in the CRM system, identifying trends and providing insights to support client development initiatives.
  • Create and maintain compelling credentials for each office, experience lists, and Northern California TPG capabilities content.
  • Support the pitch process, including competitive intelligence, company and market research, coordination of inputs, and maintenance of credentials and capabilities content, to ensure strong intra-practice and sector communication and client service opportunities.
  • Assist in developing customized pitches/RFPs, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Manage the major award programs aligned to the office or region, including Chambers & Partners and tracking key award opportunities and writing submissions.
  • Help create and distribute thought leadership materials, such as client alerts through mass mailings, digital media postings, and internal newsletters.
  • Work with the communications and PR team to maintain the internal and external profile for the Northern California Region by publicizing news items, lawyer achievements, thought leadership, and events.
  • Evaluate profile-raising memberships and sponsorships and manage those in which the firm engages to ensure the firm receives the maximum return on its investment (ROI).]
  • Utilize and champion firm tools to support the Business Development & Marketing Department and firm initiatives.
  • Build knowledge of the firm’s practices, clients, industries, and markets in order to progressively expand support for lawyer business development targeting efforts, including identifying prospective targets, organizing target lists, and supporting outreach planning and follow-up activity.
