About The Position

This role focuses on delivering timely and cost-effective IT solutions that meet business requirements, managing service level agreements (SLAs) with outsourced vendors, and controlling project budgets. The Specialist will be involved in application support, ensuring security, audit, and process compliance, as well as maintaining 24x7 application availability and performance. A significant portion of the role involves software development, including solution design, configuration, development, unit testing for new projects and enhancements, and tracking deliverables from service providers and product teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Application development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java (v11+)
• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot (v2+)
• Experience with Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevSecOps practices
• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL across Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (Junit preferred)
• Knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, and API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Experience on Project management using Agile methodology
• Process driven with ability to interact with business users to gather business requirements and confirm solution design
• Ability to analyze business requirement and transform into system process
• Hands-on approach to problem solving, attention to detail and creative solution design
• Team player and able to manage in diverse workforces
• Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and oral

Nice To Haves

• Experience with message brokers (Kafka)
• Exposure to frontend technologies (Angular, React) is a plus
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven architecture
• Working Knowledge in freight forwarding / consolidation and/or 3rd Party Logistics industry will be advantages, particularly in ocean freight.

Responsibilities

• Work with business management to align with business direction and address all escalations
• Application Support: Ensure application security, audit and process compliance for systems in managed project, support and enhancements
• Ensure Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the supported application systems are available
• Ensure 24 x 7 applications availability and applications performance
• Software Development: Performs or Assists in solution design, configuration or development and unit testing for new projects and enhancement requests
• Track and monitor enhancement and support deliverables by service providers (e.g. AMS) as specified in the SLA
• Track and monitor project deliverables by product team as per agreed timeline
