Senior Specialist, Applications Development
About The Position
This role is responsible for delivering timely and cost-effective IT solutions that meet business requirements, managing service level agreements (SLAs) and application maintenance services (AMS) of outsourced vendors, and managing and controlling project budgets. The position involves working with business management to align with business direction and address escalations, ensuring application security, audit, and process compliance, and maintaining 24x7 application availability and performance. A significant portion of the role includes performing or assisting in solution design, configuration, development, and unit testing for new projects and enhancement requests, as well as tracking and monitoring deliverables from service providers and product teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of Application development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java (v11+)
- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot (v2+)
- Experience with Spring Data JPA
- Experience with Spring Security
- Experience with Spring Cloud
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with Docker
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficient in PL/SQL across Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (Junit preferred)
- Knowledge of Git
- Knowledge of Maven/Gradle
- Knowledge of API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Experience on Project management using Agile methodology
- Process driven with ability to interact with business users to gather business requirements and confirm solution design
- Ability to analyze business requirement and transform into system process
- Hands-on approach to problem solving

Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools

- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture
- Working Knowledge in freight forwarding / consolidation and/or 3rd Party Logistics industry will be advantages, particularly in ocean freight.
Responsibilities
- Work with business management to align with business direction and address all escalations

- Track and monitor project deliverables by product team as per agreed timeline
