About The Position

Nissan is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Specialist 5 CAD to join its CAD Operations Team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The role supports the design of Nissan vehicles by creating and revising complex 3D CAD parts, shapes, and assemblies, serving as a technical expert in CAD design and vehicle data, and helping establish and develop best practices. The position is full-time and onsite.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of directly related professional-level CAD/design experience.
• Advanced experience in 3D CAD design, including creating and revising complex parts and assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of CAD geometry creation methods, design processes, and data management.
• Ability to independently manage complex technical assignments and provide technical leadership to others.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively through complex or ambiguous issues.
• Ability to work onsite in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
• Motor Vehicle Report required.

Nice To Haves

• Extensive experience with Nissan CAD geometry creation methods, design flow, and processes.
• Experience with vehicle-level CAD data packaging and evaluation.
• Experience using Space Vision for area checks and vehicle-level evaluations.
• Experience coordinating Digital Lot activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise complex 3D CAD parts, shapes, and assemblies.
• Serve as a technical expert for CAD design, data management, and vehicle data packaging.
• Teach, support, and develop best practices for Nissan geometry creation methods, design flow, and processes.
• Lead CAD activities and provide technical guidance and direction to team members.
• Troubleshoot complex design and data issues, identify root causes, and develop effective countermeasures.
