About The Position

The CAD/PLM Administrator is an individual contributor role with high potential to shape Fervo Energy’s future organizational structure. The position is responsible for CAD and PLM implementation and upkeep, CAD and drawing standards and workflows, and system architecture connecting those systems with ERP and other enterprise software. The role will support hiring designers and drafters, manage CAD and PLM software vendor relationships, coordinate transmittals and document control with the document control team, and model plant systems where resource gaps exist. The position treats CAD, PLM, document control, and transmittal as one connected ecosystem. Fervo Energy develops next-generation geothermal resources to supply affordable, reliable, around-the-clock carbon-free energy. The preferred location for this role is Houston, Texas. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with employees expected to work in the office three days per week; Fervo considers this schedule an essential function of the role.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in CAD, engineering data management, or design delivery in industrial, energy, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing settings.
  • Demonstrated experience building CAD standards, drawing templates, and document governance systems from scratch.
  • Expertise in at least one major CAD platform, such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
  • Fluency across multiple drawing types, including P&IDs, general arrangements, civil/structural, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Direct PLM or PDM experience, including data model configuration, revision workflows, BOM management, or enterprise integration.
  • Ownership of the full drawing lifecycle from early design through IFC, construction, and as-built.
  • Ability to work in the office three days per week as part of the hybrid schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter experience.
  • A background in aerospace, automotive OEM, or semiconductor industries where PLM is foundational to engineering.
  • EDMS experience in capital project environments and familiarity with PLM-ERP integration using SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience building scalable standards whose impact extended beyond the project at hand.

Responsibilities

  • Build CAD standards, including drafting conventions, title blocks, drawing templates, and file management protocols across engineering modules.
  • Promote 3D model-based approaches where useful, such as clash detection, constructability reviews, and as-built capture.
  • Administer Fervo’s Siemens Teamcenter PLM environment, including part numbering, BOM structures, revision workflows, and ECR/ECO/ECN processes.
  • Define integrations between PLM and enterprise systems such as ERP, procurement, and asset management to support reliable design-data flow.
  • Integrate EDMS and transmittal workflows with CAD/PLM, including outgoing submittals, vendor drawing review, RFI tracking, and incorporation of redlines into as-built records.
  • Define or enforce document numbering, revision conventions, and distribution matrices, and review and approve deliverables before IFC issue or external distribution.
  • Standardize engineering practices across modules and apply design and field-execution feedback, redline patterns, and constructability issues to future plant designs.
  • Use CAD tools such as Siemens NX, Autodesk, and Revit, or similar tools, while maintaining sound data governance and design practices.
  • Design workflows and administer PLM/PDM, evaluating whether standalone EDMS or PLM-native document control is appropriate for Fervo’s scale.
  • Understand and govern the connections between PLM and ERP BOMs, part masters, and procurement data.
  • Support hiring designers and drafters for the engineering organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships for PLM and CAD software upkeep.
  • Handle transmittal and document control in coordination with the document control team.
  • Model plant systems when there are resource gaps.
