About The Position

The Special Services Administrative Assistant performs skilled administrative support work for the Director of Special Services and the Special Services team. This role involves a wide variety of office duties including coordinating Special Services financial systems, maintaining accurate Special Services staffing records, facilitating notifications from the Minnesota Department of Education, monitoring and coordinating workflow, managing office operations, working with district information databases and providing accurate reports, and serving as a liaison between the Director of Special Services and other district staff, outside agencies, and members of the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Demonstrated expertise with software programs
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with faculty, staff, parents, and stakeholders
  • Understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy
  • Ability to perform duties with a thorough knowledge of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of computer software applications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • High-level interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet the public effectively

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree
  • A two-year technical certificate
  • Experience in business administration or office management
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating Special Services financial systems
