About The Position

UDOT is looking for a skilled auditor to join our Internal Audit Division. You will help us review compliance with contracts/grants, State and Federal requirements, contractor compliance, and other special projects. This is a senior role where you'll handle a full range of audit tasks, reporting directly to the Internal Audit Director. Heads up: this job might require some overnight travel across the state.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience in research, project management, and/or auditing.
  • A four (4) year college degree or comparable work experience.
  • A four (4) year college degree or a combination of education and experience (for underfill as Auditor II).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong project management skills with little supervision.
  • Familiarity with State and Federal contracting rules.
  • Background in GASB and GAGAS.
  • The ability to understand and apply government auditing guidelines.
  • Experience working with data analytics.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Great written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experience with Federal contractor requirements.
  • Audit credentials like CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct audits, which include defining scope and objectives, reviewing information, identifying potential issues, and preparing audit documentation.
  • Look at, summarize, and review data to report what you find, explain the results, and make recommendations.
  • Write or draft reports, documents, and other materials.
  • Share your findings and recommendations with UDOT leadership.
