About The Position

Block by Block is seeking individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and experiencing a sense of accomplishment while enhancing important public spaces within cities. This role is ideal for those who thrive on interacting with people and are looking for diverse assignments. Special Project Ambassadors act as local caretakers in public spaces, professionally representing the company and its customers. They help ensure public spaces are well-maintained, encouraging repeat visits and positive experiences. Ambassadors take ownership of every person's experience in the public space, including visitors, residents, workers, and the street population.

Requirements

Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
Must be 18 years or older.
Handy with basic tools and understand how things work.

Responsibilities

Circulate through assigned work zones in the work area completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning of needed items or spaces.
Operate large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks or plazas, street furniture, or any other areas in need of deep cleaning.
Operation of large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris or leaves.
Be a visible presence and have friendly interactions with the people in the public space we serve.
Use a simple smart phone app to report normal activities and maintenance reports.
