The Special Procedures Technologist I performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician. This includes explaining procedures to patients, prepping them, obtaining necessary medications or contrast materials, circulating during procedures to ensure patient comfort, providing supplies, removing catheters/sheaths, and providing report information to nursing units. The role also involves accurately recording hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges, and communicating equipment malfunctions for repairs.
