About The Position

The Armed Special Police Officer protects life and property and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, helping provide for the security and safety of client property and personnel. The role involves enforcing client procedures, regulations, and standards; responding quickly to critical situations; and writing detailed reports. Officers may perform other related duties as assigned by management.

The position requires an active DC Special Police Officer commission, applicable licensing, and handcuffing, baton, and .38-caliber certifications. Applicants must pass a drug screen and background check and be at least 21 years old. Weekend and overnight availability is required. The job pays $22 per hour and up and is available full-time or part-time.

Requirements

• Must already hold an active DC Special Police Officer commission and meet applicable licensing requirements.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
• Must have handcuffing and baton certification.
• Must be certified with .38 caliber.
• Must have weekend and overnight availability.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• General knowledge of security procedures and methods and fire safety.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Ability to read and write detailed reports.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently for extended periods; climb stairs; and walk on inclines and uneven terrain.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
