The Psychological Mental Health Technician shall assist with the management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities. This role primarily involves providing a wide range of behavioral health interventions from prevention to treatment to individuals, under the supervision of a licensed professional. The technician will conduct intakes, assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients, and counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems. The role requires independent work, resolving issues using available guidelines, and referring unusual matters to the supervisor. Responsibilities include observing patient behavior, leading therapy sessions, completing intake interviews, collecting statistical data, administering psychological and psychophysiological tests, maintaining databases, preparing correspondence, assisting with program development, managing budgets, developing appointment templates, handling work orders and inventory, gathering data for presentations, and providing information to various personnel. The technician will also interface with family support organizations, maintain competency folders, coordinate case reviews, prepare medical record reports, and maintain a resource library. Services may also be provided to families seeking information on healthy family life and parenting skills.
