About The Position

AMR is hiring per-diem Paramedics to deliver compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. Paramedics assess situations, provide advanced medical care using appropriate equipment and procedures, communicate with patients and their loved ones, and support scene and unit management. The role also includes driving an ambulance on 911 responses, collaborating with allied health and public safety personnel, and participating in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and strengthen community relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic credentials.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience; healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine the best course of action using progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills and medical equipment and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and their loved ones to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
