About The Position

Work with the Special Events team to convert and prepare the venue for events including, but not limited to, special event functions, national entertainment, promotional drawings and trade shows. Set up and take down chairs, tables, staging, pipe-and-drape and other event-related items and equipment (requires frequent heavy lifting). Assist during events with ticket taking and ushering. Respond to radio requests for setup, removal or repairs. Operate applicable equipment and machinery (e.g. forklift, scissor lift, etc.). Clean and maintain event spaces, equipment and machinery. Communicate all concerns to the Sales & Catering Manager in a timely manner. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in Special Events or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong public relation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy and general office skills.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to operate all required equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle.
  • Highly reliable and self-motivated.
  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability and willingness to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel and encourage others to do the same.
  • Mobility throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items and equipment on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
