About The Position

Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1920, is an independent coeducational day school, serving students from age 2 to Grade 8 on two campuses. The foundation of PBDA's program is the education of our students in an academically challenging and compassion-rick environment that guides each child toward personal excellence of mind, body and character. At all levels, our students will be challenged to excel, empowered to act, and prepared to lead. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with the organizational goals and mission identity of Palm Beach Day Academy. The manager will lead the planning and implementation of all special events, including internal gatherings, fundraising and campaign events and community outreach events, ensuring flawless execution from concept to completion. They will manage relationships with vendors, venues, and internal and external stakeholders to negotiate contracts, oversee logistics, and maintain high standards of quality and service. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing and communications and admissions, is key to creating cohesive event messaging, branding and promotional strategies. The role requires staying current with industry trends to continuously enhance the guest experience and ensure events are innovative and engaging. Establishing and maintaining relationships with key partners, sponsors and vendors to maximize event impact and resources is also a core function. Finally, the manager will analyze event performance metrics and gather feedback to continuously improve future events and strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in event management, with a portfolio of successful, large-scale events.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, timelines, and logistics for complex events.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong history of volunteer management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the education or non-profit sector a plus.
  • Familiarity with event management software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, Canva) and Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge a plus.
  • Experience with social media and digital marketing tools to promote events and engage audiences (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok) a plus.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual and technical requirement for live events a plus.
