About The Position
Boothby Therapy Services is actively hiring Special Education Teachers throughout Vermont for the 2026–2027 school year. They partner with school districts across the state and have opportunities available in various special education settings including Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Special Education, Middle School Special Education, High School Special Education, Resource Room Programs, Self-Contained Classrooms, Life Skills Programs, Behavioral Support Programs, Autism Support Programs, and Inclusive Education Settings. Boothby takes a personalized approach to match candidates with positions based on their experience, preferred age group, instructional strengths, and geographic preferences, rather than placing educators into a single opening. They offer more support than traditional school roles, including a dedicated Service Delivery Manager, collaborative teams, access to instructional resources, responsive support, and a structure designed for manageable workloads and educator well-being. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field (required)
- Valid Vermont Special Education teaching certification or eligibility
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in special education settings preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and educational needs
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities
- Foster inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote student success
