K-12 Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in Lancaster, SC. This role involves adapting curriculum for students with diverse academic and functional needs in K-12 settings, managing classrooms (Resource, Co-Taught, or Self-Contained), and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for caseloads of 12-33 students. The position also includes supervising assistants, implementing behavioral strategies, and collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to promote inclusive practices and monitor student progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid South Carolina Certification in Multi-Categorical (ED, MD, EMD, or TMD/Severe also accepted)

Responsibilities
- Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse academic and functional needs of students with various disabilities, leading either Resource, Co-Taught, or Self-Contained classrooms across K-12 settings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for caseloads ranging from 12 to 33 students.
- Supervise assistants and implement specialized behavioral or moderate-needs strategies.
- Partner with general education teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate inclusive practices and monitor student progress toward annual goals.
