About The Position
Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Teacher for its New Day Academy. New Day Academy is a state-supported, year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities, located within the Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center, an acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The teacher will be responsible for carrying out professional duties in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the Principal. This includes demonstrating curriculum knowledge, providing instructional services to students, assessing achievement effectively, and taking responsibility for professional development.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age to apply
- Bachelor’s degree in education required
- Teaching certification or eligibility in the State of Alabama is required
- Must have experience in behavioral management using a variety of intervention techniques
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in education preferred
- Experience in Special Education preferred
