About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring an Affective Needs (AN) Teacher to support students in Brighton, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in a structured educational setting. You’ll help create a safe, supportive classroom environment while partnering with school teams to support student growth and success. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact with students who benefit from additional emotional and behavioral support while working alongside a collaborative district team and a supportive, therapist-run company.

Requirements

Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Special Education endorsement
Strong classroom management, de-escalation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in an Affective Needs setting
Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional regulation and learning
Implement behavior supports and collaborate on intervention strategies
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, school psychologists, social workers, and families
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and supports accordingly
Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
Support students in building coping, self-regulation, communication, and social-emotional skills
