About The Position

Achieve Beyond is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to provide services to children ages 0–2 in Bronx County, New York. The position is based primarily in children's homes: approximately 75% of duties take place there, with travel to homes within the same ZIP code. The role may also be performed at Achieve Beyond’s Forest Hills office. The organization provides pediatric evaluations and ongoing services in home, community, and clinic settings, and emphasizes collaboration, support, service quality, and ethical standards. A flexible schedule is available.

The stated annual pay range is $68,020–$75,000. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, or a master's degree in Social Work.
• One of the following New York State certifications or licenses: Tchr. of Studs w/Speech & Lang Disabilities (TSLD), Initial or Professional; Tchr. of Studs w/Disabilities Birth–2, Initial or Professional; Permanent Special Education certification; Tchr. Speech-Hearing-handicap (TSHH); or Permanent Social Worker (LMSW).

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services to children ages 0–2 in Bronx County, New York.
• Assess children's skills and determine their educational needs.
• Adapt general lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
• Develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for each student.
• Plan activities that address each student's abilities and needs.
• Implement IEPs, assess student performance, and track progress.
• Update IEPs to reflect students' progress and goals.
• Discuss students' progress with parents, teachers, therapists, and counselors.
• Travel to children's homes within the same ZIP code; approximately 75% of duties are performed in children's homes.
