About The Position

LEARN Academy is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher in Phoenix, Arizona, for a full-time position. The role involves supporting students in grades Kinder - 5th with a caseload of under 20 students. The company, LEARN Academy (LEARN Academy® School Support Services and Education Network), is a nationwide provider of special education services to schools, formerly Light Street Special Education Solutions. They partner with schools to improve the quality and efficiency of services for children with special needs, offering flexible solutions based on evidence-based practices and focused on positive student outcomes. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive special education services, implementing evidence-based interventions to enhance students' academic, social, and life skills. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers, evaluate student needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress toward IEP goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
  • Current ADE certification
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card
  • Presently eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs.
  • Adapt general education lessons and teaching techniques to meet the needs of students with various disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Prepare and organize classroom activities, educational materials, and assistive technologies to create an effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and IEPs as necessary.
  • Manage classroom behavior, implementing positive behavior support strategies when needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
  • Support early intervening services by participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives.
  • Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and services.
  • Complete academic assessments as directed by school site.
