About The Position

Inspire Charter Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is seeking a part-time Special Education Teacher for 20 hours per week. The school serves students in grades K–8 and emphasizes academic achievement, creative thinking, critical-thinking skills, real-world problem solving, and character development. This position is eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus. The teacher provides specially designed instruction tailored to each student’s disability-related needs. Services may include resource-room instruction, inclusion, and/or pullout services. The role also includes professional development focused on special education curriculum and data-tracking tools. The school offers monthly professional development and weekly coaching for staff, including on-the-spot coaching for teachers.

Requirements

Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements.
Be willing to pursue alternative certification with support from National Heritage Academies, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Provide specially designed instruction to meet each child’s needs resulting from their disability.
Deliver services through approaches such as resource-room instruction, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
Participate in professional development focused on special education curriculum and data-tracking tools.
